Hello All,
Due to increased interest in the CNC, i think its time we look into a basic vcarve pro class, thread, and maybe a tips and tricks thread so folks can share ideas and experiences they’ve had on the machine.
Posting photos of projects would be cool too and that will let members know what the machine is actually capable of doing.
The class would be basic, and high level but enough to get a person started to effectively use the machine. We could also couple that with seasoned CNC users that could expand more on tooling and toolpath logic.
Some of the default settings in vcarve will have you sitting for 3-4 hours for job that could take 1-2 hours if there was an understanding of the passes, chip loads, feed speed, and router speed.
There are some cool shortcut tools to help with the designing of your project in vcarve, and i’ve been advised of other methods by @Kentamanos that were very helpful as well.
The idea is to get folks talking about it, so the machine is used correctly beyond just knowing how to turn it on and drive a bit into some wood.
This is my first project having no cnc experience at all, its flawed but not bad for a first run. This was all done in vcarve, no cad etc.
So im eager to know more about the tool and other folks experiences in using it.
