Sept 12th - do we have a grill

I’m hoping to provide some food for the people in the creative arts room during the long haul of the 12th. I seem to remember seeing a grill somewhere.
Can we have an impromptu simple cookout?

We’re having food trucks come out from 11-2. As part of our arrangement with them we can’t offer food (our snack room doesn’t really count) during those hours.

Feel free to grill after those hours, though it might be hectic.

@uglyknees I have a small grill or two, if you need them. I’m sure other members have nicer than mine, though.

I did not know that.

Just brainstorming, here, as I thought Nicole would not be the only one hoping to provide lunch for the committees’ volunteers.
Do we know which food trucks are expected?
Is there any shot they’d negotiate a “volunteer rate” that someone (Nicole, say, if she wants) could hand out a coupon for and pay en masse?

What about before those hours?

I could see myself being @ the space by 6AM for setup and wanting lunch out of the way by 11; not sure if it’s applicable to CA and Nicole or not.

I presume one could also bring in from off-site with warming trays “caterer-style” as long as we keep it “for the volunteers”?

Or is all that skating too close to the edge?
Not looking to undermine anyone else’s anything…

I don’t know - keep me posted.

We do, it’s the unused propane grill between the unused giant vacuum tank and the relatively unused screen printing table in the pallet storage area(next to the forklift)

I would love to know what food trucks are coming. So I can figure if I need to bring a lunch (can’t handle spicy stuff)

I hate to sound like an idiot, but what is happening on the 12th?

It’s the day we are celebrating as the anniversary of Dallas Makerspace. We are celebrating by hosting a big open house, with lots of exhibits, food and presentations.
