I haven’t seen anything for that on Calendar for a while. I would like to get into autonomous drones, so if anyone knows of any SiG or committee meetings that aren’t shown on the calendar currently, that would be great.
The Aerospace/RC group went silent some long while back. Main interest at the time RC cars. There has been some interest in drones and related. Design, build, etc. I encouraged those interested to put together a SIG, but no one stepped up to get it done.

To elaborate on the background Art provided, I would not take this to mean there’s no interest or support for this topic. Just that a cohesive structure/group isn’t currently established or active.
Continuing to post, talk about and otherwise express interest (like this post!) are how like-minded folks come together.
This topic may present a leadership opportunity for someone to step up and establish regular meetings, activities and resources.
Maybe someone interested in that can think of a “killer app” or resource to draw in participants and grow the group. Perhaps organizing events (races, meetups, group builds etc.) on a regular basis? Maybe offering advanced training/classes (aerial photography, Part 107 test prep)?
Point being, just because something isn’t currently happening, or has been attempted in the past doesn’t mean it can’t happen in the future. DMS thrives as a do-ocracy. The folks who get the most from the space and contribute back are the ones who take the reigns and do.
I’d like to get involved, in this. What would be next steps to get more interest and have this evolve?

We’d need enough people to form a SIG (~5-ish people), and someone to lead the SIG.
