Vapor Hone Guidance

Good afternoon! My wife and I are new to the space and were working with the vapor hone today. For the most part it did really well, but I kept running into an issue where the rinsing hose and view sprayer stopped working. They usually came around again after a few minutes of sitting, and later we discovered that you could power off the machine, let it drain and sit for a minute then power it back on and you’d get water spray pressure again.

We read the directions on purging, but that didn’t seem to help much. We’ve never used a vapor hone before, and I’m sure it’s just a matter of not knowing something. It felt like it was maybe getting low on water, but I wasn’t sure and didn’t want to cause problems by doing something wrong. (I even tried to look up usage instructions on Vapor Hone’s website, but they don’t seem to publish PDF owner’s manuals there.)

There was a giant water tank next to it that said “For Vapor Hone” but no clear directions on how to use it. It looked like you just plug it in, then flip the switch to pump water out of it, but again, didn’t want to break something from not knowing.

Is there anyone who can provide some guidance on what I’m doing wrong, where to add water and how much? Once we get the right answer, would anyone be terribly offended if I printed out directions on how and where to add water to keep near the machine for others?

Thank you!

The vaporhone works by spraying water + a media at the part. That media floats in the water for a while before settling to be used by the media sprayer again.

The hose and view sprayer should avoid using the media water since it will erode the nozzles faster so there is a separate tank off to the side with cleaner water. That cleaner water comes from waiting for the media to settle before allowing it to flow back to the storage tank.

Others should correct me if I’m wrong

So the main basin (cabinet) collects most of the water/sediment. In that basin the water level is supposed to be maintained at the upper air solenoid valve. That drain will drain into the upper exterior basin/weir. The upper is supposed to help the media come out of suspension and then drain into the lower exterior basin. The pump for the spray down is located in that lower basin. Sometimes the cabinet will not drain, then it will all the sudden drain. I do not recall timing/sequence of operation on this.

If the water in the cabinet is at that level on the upper drain, & there is no water in the lower exterior basin, water may need to be added.
