Mas Bar top epoxy
Oh my gosh!! So beautiful <3 How do we find out when that will happen again?
It will be posted on the calendar. We’ll do more classes next month if there are interested. I would make and glaze a couple of pieces and have them ready if you want to luster them!
Doing some final touches on a future class. We will learn how to shot, edit, and etch photos on the laser. Anything from wood, stone, and glass.
Funny. My Father in-law did this with his laser. My wife got it as part of a birthday present from him yesterday.
This is so intricate! I have to wonder at how you kept your hands so steady to assemble these tiny pieces. I would have to get the XL loupes and stay off coffee for 6 months. Beautiful work!
I used an Aerosol matte clear coat by Minwax. Thank you John!
Reasonably successful first test of a modified acetone smoothing procedure. Owl was printed at half size to make the details smaller and more challenging for a good test.
Wow, it’s so smooth!
I’m very pleased at how well my first try of a new smoothing procedure worked. I will be proposing the design of an improved smoothing chamber to the Science Committee as one of our first group projects for our new format Science Sunday meetings (I want to smooth bigger objects).
If anyone is interested in doing this for yourself, keep an eye out for the laboratory safety class and lab procedures classes I am working on putting together as this training is required to use the fume hood.
Hi! First time poster on this thread and new to ceramics as of June when I joined the makerspace. I started building this sculpture for my sister who recently went through lung cancer and is now thankfully in remission. It’s a set of ceramic lungs. She actually had the top two thirds of her right lung removed. I’m now trying to decide how to represent that in this sculpture. Maybe with some etching or a transfer (which I don’t know how to do) or something else.
That looks like FUN!
I want to share my lamp that I’ve finished after taking April’s class. He went thru a long way and a lot of adjustments but finally made it He’s a Jedi/samurai lamp, I can’t decide yet but he looks cool with his sword. Thank you @coffeebean for all your help!
You did well young padawan
That is really cool!
I would like to teach people how to do this someday. But it definitely would have to be a take-home project.
In canny looks just like you
