@jrkriehn - I can relate to what you’re saying!!

When we were sequestered at home, I too dug into the UFO pile. In this case, it was a project I could no longer rationalize procrastinating. My niece had asked me to make a memory quilt containing baby clothes from her three kids (two boys/one girl). She had given me three trash bags full of (clean but) wadded-up baby clothes!! The resulting quilt is an assortment of challenging fabrics like fleece, knits, heavy sweaters, corduroy, ruffled tulle skirts, sleepers with feet and even a winter coat.

In typical quilter fashion, I already had all of the accompanying fabrics plus about ten yards of fusible interfacing. (Each garment had to be fused to interfacing before incorporating it).

Prior to the DMS shutdown I had dye sub’d a scaled newborn footprint and a photo of each child, and @CaryF300 dye sub’d a replica of my niece’s own baby blanket during the shutdown.

I quilted the footprints using trapunto (technique) so they are puffy.

Each garment block has different custom stitching based on its design and/or obstacles like buckles and buttons.

In the border I stitched a pattern with the first initial of each child and alphabet blocks with the initial of their last name.

She plans to hang it on a (large) wall. I will hand-deliver it the next time I make a family visit.

Those quilts are awesome! I was very glad to be able to help. Definitely heirlooms.

Got a new GoPro and wanted to start making OneWheel content. I have some experience with my editing in Filmora Pro (I know, DaVinci Resolve is probably better and free). Turned out pretty good for not having a proper selfie stick, I used a 3D printed gopro handle for this video.

If you want to borrow any equipment let me know. Looks good though! Have always been curious about those one wheels.

I’ve been working on dialing in settings on the Fusion for Anodised Aluminum, Powder Coatings, Glass, and Stainless for my upcoming mug classes. Additionally finding that CRC Moly dry lube is a much cheaper alternative to CerMark

This was my first month at DMS. I recently relocated to Dallas and to a new apartment, the kitchen cabinet space is limited so I made my own custom fit Cuttery divider as my first project.

I got lucky to get the class for the laser cutter as I was finishing the project so I added a nice detail on the backboard.

That is very, very nice. I just got my Prusa back up right before I left town for a 4 day trip and started a 96 hour job. Don’t have it put together yet but I might post it too. That is some awesome filament right there.

Making some house warming gifts for my brother who is finally moving out from our parents.
Made using the epilog laser using CRC Moly Dry Lube coated onto the stainless, then Lasered at 100% power at 2% speed.

Very very nice!

I’m finally getting around to making our wedding invites.
Sorry for the coverup…but you’re not invited.
You will he invited to an all out much more relaxing thing (if I know you) when covid releases it’s grasp on our collective lifestyles.

Deets:
It was a grab bag of veneer from eBay and paper we found at paperarts folded with some fancy pants origami way by myself and Kenneths sister.

Veneer is 10power at 100speed Probably could have gone a bit faster on some of the woods but I don’t have time to check every wood.

That’s all I got for now.

not sure why you had to include the part “finally moving out of our parents house”

I missed that Josh. Lol

next round of stickers I designed have come in.
The “verbal grenade” is just an inside family joke I made it up to refer to my little brother’s tendency to say really awkard things in public to see how people will react. He likes to say weird/awkward stuff to see if they will jump on the verbal grenade or duck and run for cover or not flinch…
