It looks like the French polish is next to the 3 stripes. Actually I think it’s curly maple wood with clear coat. Can be done either way. The top (horizontal) stripes look to be your standard butcher board block with clear semi-glass poly. The vertical appears to be cherry x2 full on, no wipe off, walnut wiped down, and ebony 3x no wipe. Hope this helps.

I’d like a little help getting started on building a bed/couch in my conversion van. I have the rough plans and have even built a full-scale model. Now, I just need someone to guide me on the finer points of how best to mount the wood (or other suggested material) to sheet metal, methods of building, things I don’t know to ask, etc.

Even just a 10 minute conversation on what items to buy would be great.
