Machine Shop Order requests

Ah,

My mistake.

Do we need to make a table for one or two deburring grinders???
Best,

Jim

Can we get a couple of broaches? I’d like to see some common square ones like for making a 3/8" or 1/2" drive attachment.

What kind of Broach are you thinking about? Rotary broach?

I do have concerns about a deburing wheel, more along the lines of the abuse. Maybe we do like with the saws.

While looking through the drill bits at Bowers, I found this

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I’ve found myself on a few occasions needing to get a torque wrench onto something that we did not have a way to transfer to, and being able to make a crowsfoot of the appropriate size would have solved the problem.

A couple of other standard items might be nice. I haven’t procured any besides some chinesium ones that were a standard broach rather than a rotary so I’m unsure what there is that would be valuable to more than one person (whether that be a set or what might be most common).

It’s one of those capabilities that maybe more people use if we have it but might be too specialised as to what shape is needed. Maybe we get a rotary machine head attachment and one can supply their own shape broach? Might be more reasonable than trying to stock them

well I was going to request some new hold downs to replace the wooden ones on the CNC but
not if they are these 3d printed POS clamps. I’ll make some aluminum ones when I get a chance.

What about these? I found two different sizes. They appear to be the two sizes that you brought with you today:

They seem to come with a 5/16" bolt and a knob. We’ll have to machine (or grind) the edges of the T-bolt to make them fit.

Two of each?

Could we please consider a thread checker for UNF threads?

Yes those are the ones. The mini are what worked the best
