Howdy!
I reccently joined the makerspace, and I was wondering if I could get approved to use the manual machines in the shop. I have experience using mills and lathes, and I would be more than happy to demonstrate my competence.
Although today would be ideal for me, I understand that’s a bit last minute. Weekends (but not this one) and weekday evenings would work as long as I plan it a couple days in advance.

There are training classes that begin online. See Dallas Makerspace: Log in to the site
You can demonstrate your competence without the training. Contact the chair, Tim Bene @TBJK for a machine side checkout. He’ll either do it, or point you at someone who can.
I also suggest you apply for a green dot to get access to the members-only sections of Talk. Dallas Makerspace members (primary or family/add-on) in good standing may request access to Members Only categories (e.g. #issues-requests ) by requesting a Green Dot
