Renegades

by X Ambassadors

Run away with me
Lost souls and reverie
Running wild and running free
Two kids, you and me

And I say
Hey, hey hey hey
Living like we’re renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Living like we’re renegades
Renegades, renegades

Long live the pioneers
Rebels and mutineers
Go forth and have no fear
Come close the end is near

And I say hey, hey hey hey
Living like we’re renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Living like we’re renegades
Renegades, renegades

All hail the underdogs
All hail the new kids
All hail the outlaws
Spielberg’s and Kubrick’s

It’s our time to make a move
It’s our time to make amends
It’s our time to break the rules
Let’s begin

And I say hey, hey hey hey
Living like we’re renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Leaving like we’re renegades
Renegades, renegades

“Most people are as happy as they make up they’re minds to be” Attributed to various people over time with much dissent on the source… It works in essence if you apply it…

Another good exercise in how to experience events in your life, David Foster Wallace’s commencement address to Kenyon College…

I do love me some dark humor.

A creature after my own heart. There isn’t much darker than some of my humor. Of course I do like to change it up with a little light hearted banter on occasion.

My wife turns to me last night and asks if I think the snot monster on the Mucinex commercial sounds like Erlich (TJ Miller’s character on Silicon Valley, which we have recently finished taking advantage of on HBO’s free COVID offering). Then, while “researching” this to see if she was right, this was discovered:

That headline provided the single biggest laugh from me TJ Miller has ever elicited (the article looks/sounds kind of sad, and I didn’t actually finish reading even the first paragraph, though I heard a synopsis, so fair warning that the STORY might ruin your laughter buzz).

You should look into why he was written off Silicon Valley

He certainly feeds a particular reputation… not sure that contributes to “happiness”, though…

Just put up one for this week!

What about Dallas Makerspace has made you happy?

Now make crumpets! They are at least as good. Lots of holes to sop up butter and jam (and lemon curd, which is also pretty easy).
