Hey there. I’m a Senior Python Developer working in the cyber security space for a bank. I was checking to see if there might be an appetite for a new class on programming with Python (at least monthly?). I don’t get to use a lot of the newer features of Python where I work, and I’m interesting in connecting with more people in the Makerspace. Please let me know if you are interested and if you have some ideas about what you would most like to see in such a gathering.
I’m currently interested in a few different areas that would involve Python.
- Machine Learning using the fastai framework (built on top of pytorch).
- CircuitPython - a version of Python that runs on microcontrollers (great for makers).
- Personal Blog - this could go in lots of directions depending on the tech stack and what features are desired.
I would like to focus on building minimal viable products so that completely different projects can be introduced regularly and allows newcomers more easily. Also, I’m not opposed to wondering into other languages - Python is just what I’m most familiar with. I’m hoping to learn Web Assembly later this year and maybe start on Rust… Who knows…
Hope to hear from some of you,
Randall White
