Turned on Jet Lathe / CA glue, Micro-mesh and Novus 1-2-3 polish
Special thanks to Steve for the 1-1 time to work with me on this project.
A couple of you beat me to it but here’s the bottle opener class from yesterday. So glad the power came back on in time. Everyone did a fantastic job!
Trying some resin work. Maybe for Christmas ornaments? Cut them out on laser then filled with resin that had some color.
Next time I’ll only scan versus cut the design, won’t have to put tape in the back or use as much resin I guess.
Thanks the Steve @Lordrook for his help and suggestions with this!

ooooo sooo cool! want to make a spear now!
@meanbaby, nice visiting with you yesterday. Loved the parent/kid projects.
Just remember that raster engraving takes much more time than vector cutting.
Good point Cary, hadn’t thought of that, will have to do some experimenting!!
I made nametags for all the teachers at the space. Right now they are on the laser work table. If they get moved I will update this post. If you teach classes and don’t see your name, let me know and Ill get you one made. Otherwise, pick yours up next time you’re at the space.
Re instructor name tags
Neat, thx!
Thanks! 123456789087
No problem. And more characters.
Mark, thank you for doing this, that is awesome!
I believe you missed me. Could you make mine to say “Malcolm”. I’m not aware of any others with my name and if you throw the last name on there the print gets small.
EDIT: Nope, it’s there.
Very nice. I’m inspired by the possibilities.
You could make a two-layer piece - thin top layer to encase the resin, thicker backing.
Unless you want it to somehow be see-through …
Thanks! Now I feel official!
A resin hybrid blank for sphere turning from Saturday’s “Session 2” class and some pen blanks from Sunday’s pen blank class.
Thats not just the John Gorman batch? Or is it still being done lol
Those colored pencil blanks look great and terrifying
