I’m relatively new here, but I have a class idea I would like to see if there is any interest for.
I’ve worked on several RGB projects, and have picked up quite a bit of experience with controlling individually-addressable RGB LEDs using Python and Raspberry Pi. It works with every model of Pi (clones included) and every type of RGB LED. I would tailor the class primarily for the WS2812B, as these LEDs are truly individual with an IC, but the code can always be easily adapted for other LED types.
Brady @bpamplin has done classes for the same LED strips based on the Arduino. https://calendar.dallasmakerspace.org/events/view/14734
These type of classes are very popular and fill up fast.
Going from the Arduino environment to the RPi would be interesting.
I saw that, and thought it might be neat to have a similar class based around the Pi. I’ll get in contact with @bpamplin to see what tips he may have for the class.
I’ll PM my phone number. I do a bunch of Arduino-ish classes and the most common request is for RPi classes. This class would be great. These may be interesting.
