I’ve got some ceramic pieces ready to go, Sofia has a couple for the junior division, and James is feverishly working on completing his. Best of luck to all entering their work.

@mrjimmy had a good idea to discuss with the State Fair staff to see if we can add some modern competition categories: Best 3D Print, Laser Craft, etc.

Before you do, be sure you’re willing to put your time and effort where your ideas are. Every one of the divisions is “herded” by a group of volunteers.
They are probably as fond of voluntold as many of us are…

To everyone who submitted, I want to see if we can get a group discount for a DMS fair day, can you send me your name and number of guests you plan on bringing?
Or failing that much granularity, something like a “modern craftsmanship” category for hobbyist-grade CNC entries?

The “not much of a discount” is to purchase tickets at Kroger for $16.50 versus 18.00 at the gate.
Discounts that don’t require advance purchase but do require planning:
Every day after 5:00 pm - empty Dr. Pepper can for half-price admission
Tuesdays - empty Dr. Pepper can for half-price admission all day
Wednesdays - bring 4 cans of food for North Texas Food Bank, get in for $4.00 all day.
Thursdays - empty 20 oz Coke bottle for half-off admission all day.
Thursdays are “thrifty Thursdays” with food vendors discounting one “signature” item, whatever that means.
Don’t forget - No need to spend $40 on a corny dog - you can bring in a plastic or soft-sided cooler with food and/or drinks (no glass containers). You can rent a wagon to haul your cooler - need to do that 24 hours in advance
