I have circular wooden dowels I want to split down the middle. They are 3/4" diameter and about 5 ft. long. Does anyone have a recommended way to do this? I saw one article on the Internet showing how to do it with a band saw, but it requires a rip fence (I forget if we have that) and a decent amount of space for the feeding in/out of the dowel so it won’t twist or rotate when cutting.
