ABANA National 2022 Conference in Denton, Texas

Both @Julie-Harris and I are taking blacksmithing from Brookhaven College on Saturday. Last week Kelly Kring, the instructor asked if DMS might be interested in providing some “krafts” for families at the next ABANA conference in Denton.

This is an opportunity for us to tell people about DMS and to share some of the maker spirit we have.
Here’s the note from Kelly:

The folks with ABANA are in need of some “family crafts” that kids and adults can do. We want to make the event as family friendly as possible! Please, let folks know that we need people who can have a booth/table to offer a craft take away. ABANA board said, “On the crafts; We should make space available to anyone who will do a program, they in turn would charge a registration fee for whatever program they offer to offset their supplies and time.We can comp. them for the conference. Are there any crafts schools in the area that might want to do some sort of program?” Y’all came to mind first! If there is anyone who can help, have them email Bob Valentine at [email protected] Thanks! Kel

I contacted Bob Valentine and here’s a flyer from the 2018 activities:

Family programs 2014.pdf (84.3 KB)
2018 family programs.pdf (41.7 KB)

I don’t specifically know what groups might be interested but I wanted to pass along the information.
The conference is May 11-14 at the Denton Fair Grounds.
