Woodshop dado stack damaged

Hey,

The dato stack for the Delta has one 1/8th blade stack (1 out of 4) that is completely damaged - all 4 of the carbide teeth on it are chipped off. The other 3 1/8th inch units and the 3/32nd and 1/16th inch units are usable, but do look like they’ve seen better days.

Do you know if the shop that we use to sharpen our blades also welds on new carbide teeth? Or is it just time for a new replacement of the entire kit?

Technically, you can’t weld carbide, but you can braze it. They do replace teeth on our standard blades when the sawstop cartridges damage them. Not sure if they do dado stacks though.

Minor correction, we do not reuse blades which have been stuck in the sawstop cartridge… part of the fee we charge is to help cover a new blade.

We can have the stack repaired, I believe @Azalaket has already said he would take it for sharpening and repair next time he went that way.

Nice! Thanks Andrew. I marked the bad blade in the current kit with some masking tape and a message, so we can toss it out from the current kit and keep the rest of it around as a backup or in case anyone wants to make one of those sweet, sweet, extra wide datos.
