Why it’s not cool to leave plates of food on a sewing table and other notes

A huge thank you to the members who put in the extra Umph to get CA sparkling in prep for open house this weekend. I hope everyone takes a minute to see the results and dance on the wicked clean tables. @Kriskat30 @heyheymama @MizGeek @dianarhodes @BarkingChicken and brand new member @sewwhat (Robyn) @Narkane and Allen all aided in the order of the room. During our cleanup we returned many many things to the warehouse seriously many many things and also set a vast pile of forgotten projects and items on lost and found.

Some gentle reminders:

No personal storage in CA. This includes cute tequila bottles, stashes of bits, unfinished dreams and forgotten glory. This rule will be tightened up around ca so it will become part of the understood norms of the room.
No eating or drinking on the sewing tables. Food scrap and mr pibb ain’t a good look on someone’s sewing project - you know better and I know you wipe your hands on the seat.
Pick up after yo self. Because because because it’s community dang it and you’re in a shared space so be considerate.
Chip in 15m of communal work everytime you’re in the room. Give and take baby. Give and take. By Saturday we will have a “to do” list affixed to the pink clothespin so you’ll know what can be done.
What the heck are you thinking? Just always ask yourself this while at Makerspace. Do you need to create a little yarn dried paint random staple vomit monster and leave it for someone else to enjoy and throw away? no darling, you really don’t.

To end on a positive note: thank you for always vacuuming up stray bits, tending to a misused and disorganized areas, not leaving fingernails, and in general being so awesome.
