Why did Fusion 360 drop the Save as STL command?

When the Save As STL option disappeared, I found that I could do a Save As Mesh and then choose STL format. This youtube gives some reasons.

So I’ve always just saved and the exported it as a stl in the past but not sure if they’ve removed that too

Cura handles 3mf

Prusaslicer handles *3MF. Apparently it is their preferred format.
