This tool came with me from a former office, where it was left behind after a new furniture install… I can’t for the life of me figure out what its intended purpose is…
Neat piece, nicely made, just no idea what it does.
Sound off with your best guess, if you please.
Part of a laryngoscope. It holds the tongue down with the curve and the light allows you to see the larynx where you’re usually trying to place an endotracheal tube between.
Pictures showing the whole thing. It attaches to the base that has the battery in it to power the light.
Beat me to it.
Thank you!
That certainly explains why I couldn’t spot any use for it in with the new desk setup, and why I couldn’t find it amongst the known desk tools. I wonder who’s missing one, and how it wound up in my office a decade or so back
I suppose this also highlights my lack of Medrama intake…as well as my failure to attend medschool.
Maybe there were office occupants doing DIY medical procedures?
Being a privatish office of which I had been the sole occupant for three or so years prior, that would be concerning on a whole new level…
