What is the retro computer group that meets at DMS

And when do they meet?

I have a pile of part that I’d like to give away rather than send to the landfill. Also some books like a full set of original IBM PC-XT manuals in the slipcases.

I think that’s the Amiga group? @Raymond ?

I was looking for Steve Devino’s handle, but I only found Stacy’s – @childofthehorn . I haven’t seen her on Talk in forever, so she may not answer the call.

Steve is Stephen Wylie @mrcity

He and Stacy have different last names. As do Cindy and I.

Hey @ozindfw long time no chat

The DFW Retrocomputing group meets quarterly, but due to the growth of that group, it has been held at Bingo Bingo in Grand Prairie for about a year now. The next meeting will be on a TBD Saturday in January between 12-4 PM. It’s a group of general interest in computers, and people bring all sorts of things from workstations to gaming rigs to old foreign PCs.

The DFW Amiga club meets on the second Saturday of each month at DMS, and focuses on Commodore/Amiga computers. I am one of the hosts for that group, along with Gus Reiter. While they might not be as interested in the PC stuff as the other group, I could at least get these from you and hold onto them until the next Grand Prairie meeting.

It’s up to you in terms of what’s more convenient (go to DMS sooner, or Grand Prairie later), but I’ll see you at either one of these upcoming events.

Anyway, we’ve got two kids now - 3 and almost 5, so I only make it to DMS about once a month (for these Amiga meetings). Stacy hasn’t been to DMS in a couple years, when Greg Needel and friends brought some real live BattleBots for a screening of one of their appearances. Amazing how time flies.

Cheers!
