What kinds of classes do you want to see in Science?

I want to compliment Science, you’ve been having a lot of diverse and interesting classes classes lately. many in the applied aspects of it. Kudos.

Later this year I will be offering a series on basic geology, Special attention will be paid
to the geology and issues in the local area (why do we have to water our foundations? whe are ther pine tress in Arlington and mine keep dying i Dallas ? and such)

I ran int o a snag, the retired professor that is going to help me orgnize it 'had to have ack surgery

I suggest that science teach at least a few basics course.

How to maintain a lab notebook.
How to create an experiment with proper controls.
How to find and join crowd source science, such as the upcoming Christmas bird count. http://celebrateurbanbirds.org/about/contact-us/

It would also be great if we could expand the weather station to collect other types of data, and create a series of classes on how to do research with such publically available resources.

instead of making USB charger for the PCB board class, I think I will do a DIY Arduino, what do you think?

I wonder if a class on helping a child design a good Science fair project would
be good, I am thinking of parents that did not take much lab science,

I think a basics in measurement repeatability would be good too. Maybe people would learn to get as angry as I do over parallax in NFL booth reviews.

I think “intro to the scientific method” and a “science basics” class are both needed. With all the new equipment acquisitions we need to train folks on how to use the stuff. Kinda like a woodshop basics class, and once they pass they can use the microscopes, centrifuges, pipettes, glassware, etc

Would there be in interest in a :The Science in Art’ class, Like how pigments were.are mdea
clay and prottry glazes, different types of glass, properties of differetn metals
and suich

No, go look at the matrix spreadsheet. All of the Science stuff are green and yellow.
