What are ways to etch/engrave a name on (what I think is) a stainless steel knife using DMS Tools?
Laser (power, number of passes, etc)? Cut out names in Vinyl, then acid wash (type of acid, how strong)?
Other techniques?
Would like to avoid CNC and the Haas - it’s a slightly curved surface - would be hard to program a constant depth and the Haas has too steep a learning curve.

We currently are not allowing metal etching on the lasers until we get some better standards for it in. (Including like a higher pressure argon or nitrogen assist)
I feel like some sort of acid edge would probably be best, although I’ve never actually done that myself, so not sure how complicated that is
Take a look into electro etching. Will pair well with the vinyl cut outs. Many makers use this method. Plenty of YouTube videos for electro etching. They will go more in detail on the tools needed.
