Oracal 651 is the stuff that we stock at the Makerspace. Works great.

I’ve used oracal more than any other brand. Think the 651 is the mid range. Occasionally I’ll go for 631 if I need a bunch and don’t care if it lasts past a couple of weeks, though I would say it isn’t as user friendly. Sometimes 751 makes sense if you want it to be as user friendly as possible, and last longer than 651, but it does come with a price.

tyty this is what i was most curious about.

tyty good to know! i might spring for some fancy 12" sheets of weird patterns. im sure the 651 lasts good enough for my uses.

Oracal brand is pretty much the standard that everything else is judged by.

Oracal is definitely the mass-market brand. Good stuff, available in various levels of quality.

It just depends on what you want to do with it? A sticker that’s for a Yeti cup is going to have different requirements than something that you’re going to put on a car.

3M vinyl is kind of the gold standard, but you pay for it. Their reflective is the best by far. But, unless you’re outfitting a police car or fire truck, is it worth paying that kind of premium? Only you can decide that.

That’s why Oracal offers many varieties of their products. What you would put on a Yeti would definitely differ from a car application. That’s why they have variety.
