As you guys know, we officially launched Ventrifuge about a
month ago. We got our first project very quickly, but since then we have not
had any new. :’(
So we need your help! I will be coming Tuesday, the 25th
after 3pm with a green screen and some film equipment (thinkin. If you have an
idea that you would like to see on Kickstarter or Indiegogo please help us get some
content up. Ventrifuge is a marketplace for ideas, and our mission is to
connect people to profitable crowdfunding ventures. If you have skills and are
looking for cool projects to be a part of, this would be the time to advertise
it as well. Project video entries would be between 1:30 – 3:00 max and do not
have to be Hollywood productions.
Let me know what accommodations you guys would like before
next week.
We’re thinkin’ home made chili or chicken and dumplings.
Thanks!!!Reece"You Built That."
I have lots of ideas for projects that I would like to develop, but I don’t have the skills to do them. Would Ventrifuge be an appropriate way for me to find help, or should I develop my ideas more before going that route?
Thanks for replying! The idea is to take your top three ideas. On Ventrifuge, you can have a maximum of three outstanding during any 90 day period, and make a very generic overview of your project. You don’t want to give away anything obviously, but you do want to let others know just enough to see what you are trying to accomplish so you can go the next step and interview them. And no, you don’t have to know 100% of everything that goes into the idea. In reality very people do, and that is part of the innovative journey. So here is how you would use our product.
Let’s say you have an idea for a metal 3D printer for home use that even children will be able to use without getting burned or injured. Brilliant! You thought of this idea because you were playing RPGs and the store that makes these metal figurines cost a fortune, so you thought this would be a neat approach to solve your problem. But you only know how to 3D model and use a 3D printer. You don’t know how to design one or what goes into it. How would you possibly be able to create a metal version even though you see the end result very clearly in your mind?
This is what Ventrifuge is for.
So you begin to develop your idea a bit more. You think to yourself and you realize you need:
Someone who designs and builds plastic 3D printers to solve the mechanical side of the printer.
A metallurgist, or welder.
An electrical engineer who has industrial experience designing welding circuits.
You decide that as the originator of the project you keep 30% and your job is to build and run the crowdfunding campaign and handle the organization and manage the product’s development. The remaining partners in the venture would receive an equal share of 23(1/3)% each.
After interviewing your potential partners and selecting your talent you sign a partnership agreement and form a small partnership company with the intent to build the product.
So during the process, Ventrifuge has helped you come much closer to developing a real prototype. Ventrifuge is the pre-Kickstarter, practically nobody invests in a prototype that does not exist yet. People need others to make complex systems real. Most people own 100% of their ideas and take those ideas to the grave with them because they never took the risk to build a team and get it done. 100% of $0 = $0. Our mission with Ventrifuge is to make entrepreneurship cool again, and get the average person to realize that their ideas have amazing value, but you have to get out there and make it happen by meeting others. And we are 100% free.
Looking forward to helping you with your ideas. We will be there tomorrow to help originators after 6pm and again on the 25th.
@Ventrifuge That was a fantastic outline of the purpose. Average people absolutely have amazing ideas! This attitude is what I was hoping to find at Dallas MakerSpace.
Hello originators! Just as a reminder I will be there tomorrow after 4pm in the pillar room. I will be walking anyone with an idea through the process of posting a project on Ventrifuge and even have a full setup ready to make some good videos. If you have a good idea for a Kickstarter project but need people this is the place to find them!
Do we need to bring or have anything prepared? Your earlier post said we need to have a video of our project, but now it sounds like you might help us with that. All I have are some ideas.
@Opcode you are perfect! No need to bring anything but your brain. I will be in the pillar room this evening after 4:30. No rush. I appreciate your time!
