Committee Discussion

  • Our Vice-Chair has a expressed a request that we raise $2000 towards the committee before elections. While Committee Chair has set a milestone for the whole committee to reach as a team of $300,000.00 from grants, live stream pledges, patron subscribers, services, and fund matching donations.

  • @denzuko has also set a challenge to the committee to strengthen recruitment efforts with a contribution matching donation towards bug bounty funds if the committee can regularly release code for DMS and committee projects each quarter. Further more, publishing opportunities have been presented to the committee if these goals are met before the years out.

  • Committee agreed that efforts should be placed on focusing towards having content for patreon, blog, and social media. While more outward efforts towards meetups and hack-a-thon events such as coding dogo, ctf, and hardware hacking should be the committee focus on top of the STEM Program and programming services to Dallas Makerspace and members. To achieve this the committee will potion the board for a regular operations budget and setup the Patreon Account, Paypal Account, Linkedin, Volunteer Match, and Coinbase accounts in a way that is supported by. The committee will hire a regular article writer to produce blog articles on Dallas Makerspace blog and hackaday which are educational and correlate with the committee mission.

  • Software and VCC Computer Committee is joining assets, inventory, finance, teams to form the Computer Committee

  • Our Committee is about 24 members strong and we’re growing. To keep things moving we’ll be Implementing a recruitment campaign where the committee will be able to present projects at regular demo days on Tour nights. Highlight case modding and hosting a coding project release shark tank where members can pitch their code to a room of potential users and investors

  • The Committee is also looking for instructors on:

    • Node.js, VueJS, Web3.js and Javascript to host regular classes and freecodecamp meetups.
    • Site Reliablity Engineering to host regular classes on Ansible, Docker, CICD, Infrastructure as code, and Micro services.
    • System Engineers to host regular Linux+, Security+, Network+, and CCNA prep classes and labs

Committee Toys / Looking to acquire items

We’re looking to acquire a few things for the committee. the follow is a list of item we need leads on, donations, or willing to purchase.

  • A full or back half of a GTE Payphone to complete our Payphone PI PBX project.
  • Bulk deal on Raspberry Pi 3
  • Individuals that can create wooden keycaps
  • Individuals that can scan and create 3d models for printing
