Dropped by this afternoon. No evidence of the blowout, although perhaps it was necessary to engage the store clerk - who had a phone seemingly grafted to their head - to partake. For the Ryobi tools with price labels they were … probably … better than retail although many visibly used. But my cheapskate self wasn’t blown over thus I left empty-handed.

It’s probably safe to assume that they have little or no usable battery life.
You are right, I don’t think they even had many batteries and if they did they would be highly suspect.
