I have a friend looking to learn upholstery.
She has a simple bench project in mind to start.
Would anybody feel comfortable teaching something like that?
We have several machines that are up to upholstery, I haven’t ever reupholstered furniture. I’m happy to help YouTube and puzzle things out, and I can certainly certify them on the machines, but I cannot provide step by step instruction.
Some upholstery calls for spray adhesive, which cannot be used at the space, so be aware.
I had some folks asking for a box cushion class once. I looked at some youtubes, bought some foam, and put the class on the Calendar. Nobody signed up. I’m suspecting that they too looked at the youtubes, and realized that box cushions are Pretty Easy.
I am thinking, though, that she wants to attach the cushion to the bench? Not much more difficult.

For those of us interested in a box cushion class that didn’t see the original offering, can we start a petition to have it offered again?

No pre-reqs. I just plan on having to teach some sewing, but it’s pretty basic.
