Unfortunate COVID-19 music finds

With the deaths of musicians I’ve never heard of, I’ve taken some time to listen to their music and damn, some pure talent has been lost.

Adam Schlesinger from fountains of wayne passed away from it yesterday.

We lost Joe Diffie.

I am not much of a country fan, so I cannot offer a song.

We lost the guy who wrote I Love Rock and Roll performed by Joan Jett. I had to look up the name: Alan Merrill.

If you ever see Keith Richards on that list you know we are all goners!

Less unfortunate, but still a music-related find : unearthed my well-preserved ~15 year old discman and it plays CDs with a fidelity that even high-bitrate MP3s can’t quite achieve.

Oscar Chavez - Mexico’s protest singer whose songs often lampooned the corrupt political elite.

Not music, but he was an entertainer…

I’m a little torn on the Roy horn thing, on one hand it’s something I grew up seeing on tv and such. On the other hand the whole big cat industry has been shown to be super inhumane. I don’t actually know how much conservation vs exploitation they did.
