It appears that by a vote of 75% to 25%, the occupants of Talk would like @wandrson un-blocked on these forums. By any measure, this is a majority. Please re-instate full Talk access for him.
It appears that by a vote of 75% to 25%, the occupants of that thread would like @wandrson un-blocked on these forums. There might not be a majority of the board willing to do that but it has been brought up.
Other members: Please remember this when voting. You might be voting for a candidate which will block you if your Talk posts cross some arbitrary, unpublished threshold of âun-excellenceâ. Check the BoD notes for the board members who voted to block Walter for a private message while only giving another member a slap on the wrist for his public threat.
You can file a motion for the next membership mtng and if there is a quorum of voting members present, take a vote. Depending on whose interpretation you get, a membership vote can over ride the BoD. Put it on the agenda.
Well, thatâs the crux of some of Walterâs angst. Based on the comments at a meeting with someone familiar with law, but who is not a specialist in this area and whoâs name will not be mentioned, it appears that the ability to recall BoD members is the only confirmed recourse for the membership.
With the BoD election coming up, other methods (like this thread) may be more effective than the ânuclear optionâ.
The wording of the block from Talk didnât give a specific time, so I didnât think it was forever. Hopefully it will be fixed and he will be given an end date soon!
Iâd say do it any way.
It would send a strong msg.
Set a precedent.
And if nothing else it would clarify who has the final say - BoD versus Membership.
The durating of Walterâs suspension from posting on Talk forum as discussed at the board meeting was 90 days. How this missed being documented in the meeting minutes is both hard to understand as well as very troublesome to me. @ESmith ?
