I just visited the River Arts District in Asheville, NC the first time a couple of months ago. It blew my mind…it was like DMS on steroids, a whole entire village of creators. I am still trying to find some footage of the trip. I cannot imagine the devastation these artists are feeling. It is one thing to lose property, but a whole other thing to lose treasured works of art and a livelyhood at that, utterly irreplaceable. I am wondering what we can do as a DMS community to help. This message is to see if anyone out there would want to take a trip out to Asheville to attempt to help or join forces with other organizations already out there. If there is interest, I will research further the best was to assist without getting in the way. I have a couple of numbers of artisans out there and can reach out personnally to guage the need. If anyone knows more, please share! https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/hurricane-helenes-floodwaters-damaged-80-percent-of-buildings-in-ashevilles-river-arts-district-180985209/

I would be interested!!! I’ve heard that after the initial cleanup relief/support tends to drop off. I was hoping to get connected with someone up there to coordinate a trip to help out however I can, but don’t know anyone up there to help make that connection.
