Anyone know someone who can grind a tree stump? The city of Carrollton has decided I need to grind the stump in front of my house.
if you’ll pay for a rental, i can take care of it for ya. Otherwise, basically any arborist service should do just fine
Cool, l will check on the rental price.
The other option is to build a raised planting bed on top of it and fill it with flowers.
at home depot they have two varieties
small one is $110.00/day

how big is this stump?
Gee. And I thought the city of garland was anal retentive about my fence being at a less-than-90-degree angle…
It’s a mulberry, probably 18 inches across, but it’s a little tall. I’ll take a picture when I get home
Carrollton is the WORST, clueless clowns with WAY 2 much time on their hands.
They seem a bit selective too, I’ve got a guy down the street with cars on blocks and a fence falling over that everyone else has called on multiple times, so far there has been no movement.
I’ve got a dead Saab in the backyard that’s technically a violation, surprised they didn’t ding me on that.
Actually… The house down the street might be the reason you got the stump notice. At one point, my next door neighbors were like your down-the-street neighbor. Everybody hated them. The thing that really put the city into overdrive was when they ordered up a giant dumpster that they installed between our houses to (theoretically) contain all the detritus from re-roofing their rent house. Presumably in exchange for a rent reduction. But they only did the side facing the street, and nothing more. But every weekend, a new crappy recliner would appear in the giant dumpster. I wondered where the heck they were acquiring all these crappy recliners, because the houses in my 'hood are small - 1000 square feet average. Not a lot of room to have an army of recliners inside.
But then other neighbors were convinced that they were drug dealers, so maybe recliners is how they moved large quantities of product onto the premises. Hmmmm.
Anyway, I digress. I got letters from code enforcement citing dog poop. And this was sent two weeks after I had done a thorough de-pooping. I called the city to inquire exactly what I was supposed to “fix”, since there was no poop in the yard. They told me, “well, we can’t give the impression that we are targeting a single home. So citation-notices get sent to everybody on the block, whether the problem is really acute or not.”
