Training for Evolution cold saw / dry saw / aluminum saw

I am interested in using the Evolution saw in the machine shop area. I understand that it is only for certain non-ferrous materials (let’s not mix fine dust of aluminum and iron together, right…). My intended usage would just be cutting aluminum channels to length. I feel perfectly comfortable using the miter saw in the woodshop, and am certified to use that.

What is the process for being certified to use this machine?

Anyone who is certified on the saw can sign you off on it. They will just need to let us(@Team_MachineShop_Ins )know they certified you.

I can sign you off just about any day of the week if you’d like. I’ll also be posting a intro to Machine shop course here soon if you’re looking for more of a general orientation as well
