I’ve taken the welding safety and Mig welding class and would also now like to get approved for the Tig welder. Is this something I could get approved for on a one off basis by one of the Metal shop teachers or do I need to wait for a Tig specific class?

Are you already familiar with TIG? If so a “show me you can weld” type sign off is available since you’ve already been through the safety.
Otherwise, some level of instruction required. @Team_Metal_Shop anyone got a TIG class that hasn’t hit the calendar yet?
Additionally, we’ll sometimes do impromptu trainings for those that volunteer on our committee cleanups. Next one is this coming Saturday. Would need to hear back if one of the instructors could do some sign offs.
I’ll be at the committee meeting, and happy to do a sign off and/or mini-class if the 'shop needs some stuff welded on.
