The parts washer works excellently

I just used it to blast the grime off my truck’s steering knuckle, and now I can actually make out the stampings on it!

There was some loose paint which I wiped out of the inside of the washer, closed the lid, and turned it off at the GFCI hanging from the ceiling. Should we be wiping down the inside, or is it ok to leave it to drain itself?

Do not turn off the parts washer. It needs to maintain the temp of the solution.
Just leave the hood up so it can dry out.

Ah, shoot. I was off when I found it, so I thought that was its normal state. I did recall reading that it should be turned off if not used in 48 hours, but the manual was not specific as to why.

Edit: I will run by on my way in tomorrow and flip it back on. I would like to try sandblasting the rust off of this part before painting it, so I’ll be there anyway.

What does the solution consist of?

Whatever it is, it has very little smell. Seems to work pretty well.

I’m under the impression the solution is basically just soapy water.

A big thank you to whomever turned the parts washer back on and raised the hood.

It’s a proprietary chemical.

“Proprietary chemical”

So, Dawn.
