I was using the Sherline this past weekend to make a special-purpose bolt that cannot be purchased.
I went tto set up on the Sherline Mill to cut the screwdriver slot in the bolt head. Pretty simple and straight forward using the V-groove in the Sherline mill vice back-jaw.
So I went looking for a dial test indicator in our tool boxes so that I could indicate in the bolt head diameter. I could not find a indicator with a stem that would fit our various size cutter holders. Furthermore, we do not have Sherline collets?
I suggest that we look into obtaining an indicator holder for the Mill. We may need to modify or custom make such an accessory. Something like a quill holder style would be perfect…we do have one of those in the tool box, but is too large for the Sherline.
