Steamroller print question

I was going to laser engrave my block today but ran out of time. Now I think I’m lucky I did not do it.

It just occurred to me - please verify if I am correct - the block will need to be designed as a mirror image of the final print. So if it contains text, then it will need to be flipped backwards, and then when the actual print is made, it will be right reading. Correct?

Yes! If no word’s, then it is ok unless you wish to match the object one for one.

Yup, all text needs to be reversed.

In addition, I also realized that it needs to have a “photo negative” look: anything that is carved/engraved/dug in will be untouched by ink/remain “white” (or paper color) and the areas not dug in/engraved will be raised/where the ink prints. Good to figure these things out on small test pieces of wood first …
