Standalone thread tree for leather sewing machines

Hi all, I had a spare thread stand that came with my industrial machine, I cut out some acrylic and made a thread stand for use with any of the sewing machines that use large cones of thread. It feeds the thread smoothly and prevents drag from the cone trying to rotate (since it pulls the thread from the top vs the side).

Did you figure out the weights to keep it steady?

Turns out it didn’t need them with such a wide base

Cool, probably overkill but would having a fixed blade near the feed slots be convenient?

I saw this yesterday while touring prospective members around . Very cool Matt!

I’d love for someone to try this with the Babylock embroidery machine and see if it can be made to work …
