There are two primary methods of creating stained glass panels: lead came and copper foil. Copper foil was pioneered by Louis Tiffany and it allows for much smaller and finer pieces to be leaded together. He used it to create some very beautiful panes and lamp shades. It requires much more soldering though than the lead came method.
I taught a copper foil class last year and I have been encouraged to teach a lead came class this month. The lead came class will be $25 for the materials. In the class I plan to offer, we will be building a simple pane using the lead came method to learn the techniques. The class will be about 3 hours in duration.
Please email me at [email protected] or contact me through DMS if you are interested in the class.
