Hello,

I am new to machining stainless steel and am looking for someone to assist me in planning and machining some 300-series 6"x6" stainless steel to tight tolerances (<1/1000") on the bridgeport. It should be noted that I am also looking to learn a bit about the intricacies of machining stainless, so I would like to be present during the machining. I can make myself available on your time.

304 = ok to machine

303 = lots of tool wear, swearing, and crying

Oh, I should have noted that this initial work will be entirely 316L.

I got this backwards sorry 303 is easier.Anyways 316 is worse than 304 so I’m not touching that project. Good luck.

The only stainless I’ll entertain is 303.
