I plan to drag out the spinning wheel, and we’ll work on it some during tomorrow’s Fiber Frolic.
You might already be aware, but one of the spinning wheels is missing its strap. The working one is currently pulled down from the shelf and on the ground
I have 3mm polyurethane belting, which should work just fine. I’ll be careful not to over tension it.
Drive bands and other things are kept in the cabinet to keep them from getting stretched out, and to keep people who do not yet know how to operate a spining wheel from damaging the wheels.
Same with the drum carder.
Pop by a fiberfrolic and I would be happy to show where the drive bands, oil, and orifice hook live, and how to set up and use the wheel and/or drum carder.
Ah. That explains why Jeannie’s wheel still had the bands attached – it came to us when nobody knew anything about the fiber area.
