Smallest Diameter Bit on CNC Router

Does anyone know the diameter of the narrowest bit that can be safely used on the Multicam? Is it possible to use a 1/8" or 3/16" bit if the feed rate is slow enough?

BTW, I get that it’s not available for use right now. I am just trying to convert a drawing to CAD and want to adjust part spacing if necessary.

We do have an 1/8 inch bit. As far as the narrowest it will go, Im assuming aslong as we have the right ER25 collet any bit from https://www.onsrud.com/product/Item/m/listContent.html?classId=C1ACUT will work.

There are other things like material, and the speeds and feeds that you need to take into account, but yeah, 1/8th is fine.

EDIT: I should also add that the bits need to be in the softwares tool library and we have not determined yet which bits will be standard or if people can bring in their own bits and all that other stuff. That is still being discussed. At this time a 1/8th inch end mill will be a standard bit in the tool library.

I think currently it is 1/8.

Thanks, fellas.

More text to make the forum software happy.

I’ve seen 1/16" used before but they break super easy.

Thanks,

Alyssa

I use 1/32 in my CNC. You just want a slow feed rate and use ramps
