Sink issues, ceramics area

This morning (2/25), the black plastic bin thing under the sink overflowed when I washed my supplies. I mopped up the water and Anette was there and showed me how to clean out the clay trap thing (in the white bucket beneath the sink) and we minimally ran water to check it, but that part was overflowing, even after tightening the lid. A guy from automotive (Thomas, I believe his name was?) tried to help but had to leave. I put a sign on the sink so people will use the hallway sink for now so that it doesn’t overflow again, but it might require professional fixing? I’ve included pictures of the black plastic bin that was originally overflowing, the white bucket thing that we changed out, and the sludgy bin that we were unsure if it goes directly in the trash or what. At least I got trained on cleaning out the clay trap!

Also, i thought i had posted this yesterday morning but my connection must have been bad, so i’m trying to post this again today (2/26). I’ll be heading to the space later tonight and will update the post if there are any changes.

Thanks!

If you look to the right of the sump pump (the black thing on the right), you should see that there was a red light on the plug where it’s plugged in. That’s the Ground Fault thing. You can reset it by punching the button. That will make the sump pump work again. That sink doesn’t drain into the drain – the water is pumped up the pipe there, and across the ceiling.

There’s been some desultory chit-chat about putting an alarm on that, so when the GFS is tripped, it sets off a klaxon.
