Hello, I’m Mitra. I’m hoping to take laser 101, unfortunately I’m only available weekdays between 11 - 2. Would anyone be able to offer me a class within that window?

@team_laser … is the Laser Basics course online at learn.dallasmakerspace.org still a pre-requisite?

Below are the current procedures for gaining access to the lasers and signing up for project classes:

Thunder Laser Access

  1. Complete the Thunder Laser Basics 101 in-person class.
  2. Complete the online course on learn.dallasmakerspace.org called Laser Safety & Orientation and pass the test with a perfect score.

Epilog Fusion Laser Access

  1. Complete the Thunder Laser Basics 101 in-person class.
  2. Complete the online course on learn.dallasmakerspace.org called Laser Safety & Orientation and pass the test with a perfect score.
  3. Complete the Epilog Laser Basics 101 class.

Laser Project Classes

  • Thunder Lasers: To enroll in any project class involving these lasers, you must first complete the Thunder Laser Basics 101 class and the online course/test with a perfect score.

  • Epilog Fusion Lasers: To enroll in any project class involving these lasers, you must complete the Thunder Laser Basics 101 class, the online course/test with a perfect score, and the Epilog Laser Basics 101 class.
