I vaguely remember myth busters taking this on. My recollection is that it looked like a lost cause for a long time, but that they eventually pulled it off. I canāt remember how much they had to modify the set up though.

I did the math once on the spin rate and it seemed to work out - even something like .45LC with its slow twist rate would be spinning awfully fast if forward motion halted.
I canāt believe the that the bullet doesnāt deform. But, to be honest, I mainly see people checking the deformation of hollow points not FMJ.

Iāve dug up quite a few .45 FMJ bullets from the dirt behind a target and they are always perfect without deformation. I was surprised about that.
