Initially, the head was moving fine, but the laser was not framing properly. So, I stopped my cut and reset the machine and after that, the head wouldn’t move in any direction.
The platform was moving fine though but not the laser head.
What laser was this on?
Thunder Laser-Donner
The mm/s had been chant down to 1mm/s when I was there on Sunday morning. (The speed for the x/y/z travel when NOT cutting, it’s on the laser’s display)
So if you weren’t cutting, it was moving so slowly that you couldn’t even see it move
Check x/y movement speed on the thunder nova 35:
This is from the user manual, I will verify the process when I come in next:
Press esc
Press esc again
Press Speed
Should be at least 200mm/s.
Enter new speed.
Press enter/ok
Press esc
You should now be able to use the arrow keys to move the head around at a normal speed.
Press ‘file’ and select your file, print normally.
Someone has been setting it to 1.
Just checked Donner. I didn’t have anything to cut today so I just moved it around with the arrow keys and tested the frame option. Pulled up some stored files and checked their framing. Everything seems to be working correctly.
Thank you so much Steve for the update.
