Hi there,
My name is Aminah, and I’m a Portfolio Director at Transcend, a nonprofit that partners with school communities across the country to design and spread innovative STEM learning environments.
Our STEM team will be in Dallas on Wednesday, May 28 for a strategy and inspiration retreat. We’re looking for an inspiring local experience that connects to creativity, engineering, and hands-on design.
Would it be possible for us to visit the space between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. that afternoon? Even a short walkthrough or informal conversation with a member would be a meaningful experience for our team. We’re especially interested in learning how makerspaces like yours nurture exploration, problem-solving, and innovation.
We understand if this isn’t possible on short notice, but I truly appreciate you considering our request.
Depending on how many people we’re talking, we might should refer you to our INFO email, which is more suited to planning this type of thing for more than a handful.
That email is shown on the tours page, if you would like to make use. https://dallasmakerspace.org/tours/
Meanwhile, I think @mrjimmy is still integral to the tour process, and might lend some insight?
Hello! I am the chair of the Science Committee here at DMS and Program Coordinator for the MIT Club of DFW K12 STEM outreach efforts. I am currently working on developing STEM outreach and learning programs (though I can’t dedicate as much time to this as I would like due to the demands of my startup). I would be happy to give you all a tour and discuss those efforts as well as describe how the makerspace fosters innovation.
