Recommended power/speed settings for hardboard?

Hello!

I’m hoping to lasercut out some intricate designs with a lot of cutouts on 3/16” tempered hardboard and also on some 1/4” plywood. I’m still pretty new to RDWorks and the ThunderLaser.

I’ve tested out settings for plywood before and it didn’t cut all the way through. Has anyone had any experience laser cutting any of these materials and what are some speed & power settings you recommend for these materials?

Thank you in advance!

I do 100 power at 20 speed for hardboard.

Engraving is different per machine.

I made a 1"x1" test square that I use to test new materials. It has raster, vector cut, and vector engrave elements. Small enough not to waste material and, of course, can be resized.

Thank you! I will test that out.

Thanks, that definitely helps!

P.S. Shoutout to Kristen and Marshall for helping me get started today and giving me a refresher on the laser! Thanks for all your help!
