Radio Controlled Car Racing - Available by RSVP only - Saturdays @6pm

We could have a solenoid kicker to jump the cars, and maybe have model A rocket motors that could be triggered.

This is the closest I have found to the idea we are trying to do… of course our cars are much bigger.

Bad idea @themitch22 . Never mix fire (from model rocket motors) with Lithium batteries.

What could possibly go wrong…

Not to mention, have you thought about all those burned ankles from the other drivers standing around the soccer field (i.e. parking lot perimeter)?

I can’t get it, and I’m not sure if this is the stuff you guys are using, but if you got anyone in Ft. Worth, some free “track”…

Bit pricy, but basic idea is cool for a soccer vehicle…

I have a feeling that this R/C Soccer Game idea is going to take off and become a big hit in the DFW hobby community.

Guys, there are too many people planning to do some other big R/C event tomorrow (i.e. the Banana Grand Opening). Not enough people will show up at DMS and help setup the track, so we are taking tomorrow, August 1, as a day off from racing at DMS.

New RC toy just hit the market (actually ETA in US is Sept. 15). This looks like it will be a blast in the DMS parking lot!

I wonder how it handles counterbalance, I’m guessing a servo moves the “riders” weight and they dampen the steering fork. I"m not sure what the side balancing tuning arms do.

It looks like some new high temperature records will be set this next weekend.

As expected, we had a small turnout of racers last Saturday. Only four people showed up to race, but it was still a blast!

Fellow DMS member, Jason Reedy, brought his Honda Power Washer and 500 feet of commercial hose so that we could power wash the entire back parking lot. It took over 3 hours of work, but when it was done the parking lot looked better than when we first started racing on it back in April.

Nice work @David_Walker,
Big pat on the back for sticking with RC racing threw the high heat. I’ll see you next week with my tc car ready to run.

Thanks for the article. I have met Adam Drake when he visited the Indy RC World in Garland, TX. Adam is definitely a great guy in the RC world.

Here’s a video of Adam Drake explaining the difference between wings made out of different materials.
