This is my quick and dirty XY finder for my CNC. Just a laser pointer with a 1/2" body slip fitted into a 1/2" collet. It was pretty accurate - out .006" in the X and .01" in the Y initially. This isn’t bad for just squaring the spoilboard onto my vacumm pucks. I just have to make a plastic clip to hold down the on button and I’m off an running. If the laser on the MultiCam remains broken something like this can always be used. It was like $3 for the toy laser pointer compared to the $175 for the commercially available digital laser pointer.
